Our Story
It is our pleasure to introduce ourselves to you. We are Jack and Carol, the founders and owners of Pray Over It Publishing, LLC. Our company is the direct result of careful and intentional prayer.
Carol, writing under the pen name Emily Burns, authored her first book, Mystery on Rampart Hill, which was published by our company, Covered Wagon Publishing, in November 2002. At that time, we resided in Colorado, where we happily lived for over two decades. In 2020, we believe God directed us to Arkansas, a place we now call home. Mystery on Rampart Hill is the first book of the series, Rocky Mountain Mysteries, which Carol regretted not finishing while she was living in Colorado. Carol feels God prompted her to not only revamp this series but to infuse it with a deeper Christian message, sharing His unwavering love with readers.
Carol expresses gratitude to God for making it possible to launch a new version of the Rocky Mountain Mysteries series. She is grateful for everyone God brought into her life to assist in the creation of this book. Her heartfelt thanks go especially to Zuhal Belli, a talented illustrator based in Turkey, who produced the imagery that has brought her story to life. Additionally, she would like to thank her two editors, Hannah Bond and Kelly Newpher, whose professional expertise enhanced the quality of her book. Lastly, she extends her thanks to all who supported her in pursuing this project and to the early readers of the book who contributed their insights.
